Where are we going?
I ask your beautiful rippling face
That dwells deep in the cool well
Of my deeply dug soul
But in slices of color you fade so silently
Into the depth of my tumbling eyes
While in the palms of my boney hands
I still feel so ravenously
The haunting tautness of you stomach bare

Where were we?
I questioned your morning chapped breathe
Which I can still smell so fondly
But it was ugly sopping lies
That did drip from your lips
Which drowned my despair as they slithered
In long greasy strands
Into my quivering doubtful ears

Where could we have gone?
I sigh into the memories of your flesh
That kingdom in which I once hid
So quietly from the wilderness
That stalks just out of sight
On the edges of my now lonely bed

Where did we go?
I wonder as I remember so sadly
Your naked back arched in a stretch
As you turned away from me
Trailing behind your lingering foot steps
I try to hold out a desperate hand
Hoping to be pulled from the past
Into the waiting arms
Of a future where you hold so fiercely
My one and only
Hideous beating heart
